Tour Highlights Jomon Cedar is the thickest cedar tree in Japan, and an enduring mystery.
Its exact age is still unknown and debated; theories range wildly from 2,170 to 7,200 years, partly due to its hollowed-out center which prevents precise measurement.
Its immense, imposing presence and the sheer weight of its ancient history make it well worth the challenging journey to witness.

<Clothing>
Temperature regulation is key when trekking.
Trekking in the mountains is fraught with changes in temperature, humidity, weather, and body temperature. Lightly layered clothing is effective for a comfortable trek.
Material is also important. Wet clothing can be difficult to adjust to. Choose materials that don't retain moisture.
Examples: ✕ Denim, △ Cotton, ◎ Dry-fit shirt (Polyester)
- Shirt: Dry shirts and sportswear. Short sleeves are fine for temperature regulation, but long sleeves are also recommended to prevent injury and sunburn.
- Pants: Consider quick-drying, ease of movement, and durability! × Jeans, cotton pants △ Jersey ◎ Trekking pants
- Socks: Feet get tired easily and tend to get sweaty. Thick, quick-drying, and durable hiking socks are recommended.
- Gloves: To protect against injury and the cold.
- Hat: For sun protection and preventing head injuries. You might bump your head on a tree while walking through the forest...
- Warm clothing: During the winter months of December through February, please bring warm clothing such as a down jacket, neck warmer, and knit cap.
* The soles of hiking boots may peel off over time. If you plan to wear your own boots, please check in advance.
