| Tour details | ■ Cape Notori (Notoromisaki) ■ A cape located approximately 10km north of Abashiri city. It juts out into the Sea of Okhotsk and holds Lake Notoro, which is separated from the sea by a sandbar and has a circumference of 31 km. This place has become famous as a filming location for airline commercials. ■Abashiri Prison■ Abashiri Prison under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice. Abashiri Prison became famous due to the movie Abashiri Bangaichi starring Ken Takakura. It is not possible to tour the inside, so we will only show you the outside. ■Museum Abashiri Prison■ Located halfway up Mt. Tento, the prison was actually used at Abashiri Prison until 1980, and has been relocated in its entirety and opened to the public as a museum. It recreates the harsh lives of prisoners, including five single-story wooden cells spread out in a radial pattern. It vividly conveys what it was like back then. Groups will have a specialist, but individuals can also make reservations in advance, so it is definitely recommended. ■Tentoyama (Ryuhyokan)■ [Observation Deck] You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Sea of Okhotsk, Lake Abashiri, Lake Notoro, Lake Tofutsu, Lake Mokoto, and the Shiretoko Mountain Range.
